Enchong Dee: La Salle’s Latest Celebrity Darling

Despite his early age of 24 (born on November 5, 1988) Enchong Lorenzo Velasquez Dee (commonly known as Enching Dee) has made a mark in the Filipino showbiz world starting when he was still a student in De La Salle University. Apart of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Group, Dee has stepped out of his teen shell and has defined himself in the industry as a celebrity and young star. Not only is is a actor and model appearing in movies and high profile campaigns, but Dee has also flourished in the sport of swimming.

Already coming from a celebrity family (he is the younger brother of celebrity AJ Dee), Dee started gaining notices through his achievements as a swimmer for the De La Salle University swimming team. He further joined the National Team for Swimming and represented the country in the SEA Games in 2006. During a small cameo in 2006 in a Philippine talk show called “Home Boy”, Dee immediately was noticed by a casting director and there he began his career in modelling.

From there, Dee gained national fame due to high profile commercials and campaigns for clothing brand Bench, fast food brand KFC, toothpaste Close Up and timepiece brand Timex. He also started doing acting roles by 2007 for films like “My Girl” and “Your Song”. Since then, at only the age of 24, Dee had been in 6 films already, most for Star Cinema and they were ask big successes.

Today, Enchong Dee still has his career ahead of him but has already established himself as a high star in Filipino media. As he continues to grow into a finer artist, Dee will continue to be recognised by the Lasallian community as one of their own.
